Several of the gainers printed records or near-records, with AAPL and MSFT both marking all-time highs. Apple hits record high, becomes world's most valuable company
AAPL surged to a record high and overtook peers to become the world's most valuable company, holding most of its gain through the afternoon in what was described as a rare single-session jump for a company of its size. JPMorgan's David Kelly said a divided government implies moderation in growth, inflation and uncertainty, which helped lift Apple alongside Amazon and Microsoft. Separately, Apple cut some engineers' daily AI spending allowances from $300 to $200, with further cuts possible, as CEO John Ternus continues a broader cost-reduction push that has also brought in outside productivity consultants. Its fiscal 2026 10-K added a policy barring employees from using confidential information on prediction markets or similar event-contract platforms. Apple also opened Siri AI integration to all app developers across iOS, iPadOS, macOS and visionOS 27.3 betas, though the feature remains unavailable in the EU and is absent from the China release.

Amazon shares surge 6% as Democrats sweep Congress
AMZN climbed more than 6% as part of the post-election megacap tech rally, fully recovering the selloff that followed its October 29 earnings report. AWS launched 'Semarak AI Malaysia,' a national program to bring AI tools to as many as 445,000 government officers and students, with a GovHub pilot starting at 500 developers in 2026. Amazon also conducted two further rounds of layoffs in October, covering hundreds of Stores roles and up to 250 devices and services positions on top of roughly 30,000 earlier corporate cuts. ETF flows were supportive, with 53 funds buying a net $483.2 million of AMZN on November 2 versus 23 selling, marking a second straight session of net buying. On the risk side, Reuters reported that AI shopping agents could challenge Amazon and Walmart's combined 88% share of the U.S. retail media ad market, while BMO Capital reiterated Outperform and raised its price target to $390.

Alphabet gains on post-election tech rally
GOOGL advanced in the post-election tech rally, rebounding from the dip to $280.03 on November 3 that followed the roughly 14% post-earnings drop. Morningstar raised its fair value estimate despite the selloff, citing a 25% revenue growth rate and 103% cloud growth. SemiAnalysis's new GDPx benchmark placed Gemini 4 Carbon at 10.9%, just behind Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 and ahead of OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra, at roughly one-third the cost per task. Alphabet announced a $15 billion investment to expand data centers and AI infrastructure in Malaysia, adding to its $195–205 billion annual capex plan and a $6 billion euro bond issuance. Google also extended voluntary buyout offers to five more countries — Canada, France, Germany, Japan and Switzerland — while Cathie Wood's ARK sold about 12,530 shares on November 3.

Meta debut euro bond sale draws record €53 billion orders
META's debut euro bond sale drew record demand of EUR 53 billion, spanning six tranches from about 4 to 38 years, while the dollar portion priced across five tranches at coupons of 5.85%–7.5% with up to $58 billion in bids. Meta also acquired AI coding startup Conductor, which orchestrates multiple AI coding agents in parallel, with terms undisclosed. Legally, Florida's Second District Court of Appeal ruled that Section 230 does not shield Meta from a deceptive trade practices suit alleging Instagram was designed to addict children. In Brazil, a São Paulo court barred Meta from scraping news content from three press associations to train AI, with fines reaching R$100 million. Shares rose amid the broader rally, climbing as much as 3.5% intraday even as some investors read Democratic control as a prompt for tighter AI regulation.

Microsoft hits record high on post-election hyperscaler rally
MSFT hit a record high, rising $35.49 on the session for its biggest one-day gain since late July and adding roughly $250 billion in market value, with a new intraday record above the prior mark set on July 31, 2025. Morningstar noted Microsoft and Amazon combined for a roughly $400 billion market-cap boost, while Gabelli's John Belton argued that constraints on data-center capacity could let incumbents raise prices and improve margins. Dan Ives reiterated Microsoft as his top hyperscaler AI pick heading into 2027, while warning that Democratic control could pose a 'big hurdle for AI buildout.' Business Insider reported that satellite images suggest IREN and Nebius data-center delays contributed to Microsoft's $5 billion cut to its annual capex forecast last quarter. The rally came on the heels of a fiscal Q1 beat with Azure growing 48% in constant currency and management guiding Q2 Azure growth to 49–50%.

Nvidia falls 3% as Democratic sweep pressures AI data-center stocks
NVDA fell about 3%, one of only two Magnificent Seven stocks in the red while Microsoft, Apple and Amazon each rose more than 6%. Data-center names CoreWeave, Iren and Nebius declined alongside power-equipment makers GE Vernova and Vertiv, as investors weighed rising electricity costs and debt-fueled AI spending under Democratic leadership. Democratic state-level victories could affect up to 45% of planned U.S. data-center capacity, adding a geographic layer of regulatory risk to Nvidia's key end market. Despite the sell-off, Nvidia remains up about 9.07% year-to-date and is testing support near the $200 zone, with technical analysts still calling the longer-term trend bullish. A Fox Business panel also debated the reported rule capping Chinese cloud customers at 49% of their business and whether workarounds exist.

Democratic sweep raises Tesla regulatory and merger concerns
TSLA opened down over 5% and recovered to close about 3.34% lower, one of only two Magnificent Seven stocks to fall while peers gained more than 6%. In Texas, Democrat Gina Hinojosa unseated Gov. Greg Abbott and James Talarico won the Senate seat, defeating state allies of Musk after he spent roughly $474 million nationally and over $200 million in Texas on Republican candidates. Democratic control of Congress could bring hearings into Musk's government contracts, tougher federal oversight of autonomous vehicles, and complications for the anticipated Tesla-SpaceX merger, while the incoming Texas governor has floated a data-center construction moratorium that could affect Tesla's AI compute facility. On the demand side, Tesla's German October registrations rose 290.9% year-over-year to 2,932 units, leaving the YTD total of 47,742 just behind BYD's 47,961. A South Korean consumer group also filed a complaint alleging Tesla misleadingly marketed FSD at about $6,800 when only around 20% of Korean-registered vehicles can legally use it.
